Join BERNINA sewing expert, Sylvain Bergeron, on foot as you venture through the world of presser feet. Each attendee will enjoy hands-on sewing with over 20 BERNINA presser feet.
This 2-day sewing event will help you elevate your sewing skills and knowledge as you learn from one of the nation's best sewing instructors. Experience a wide range of sewing topics, including an overview of how to use different presser feet, various edge finishes, applique techniques, and perfect pin-tucks.
Every sewing machine comes with a set of standard presser feet for basic techniques. And we all try to push those feet to their maximum capabilities, sometimes with less than favorable results. We will share how easy it can be to step up to a new foot, still designed for a basic function, that will open doors to your adventurous side. The standard, zipper, blind hem and decorative stitch feet will be highlighted while you create a sampler book of techniques.
Add to your bag of tricks with a set of straightforward techniques that will allow you to finish projects with perfect edges. From quilt bindings to delicate rolled edges (including curved edges), learn how you can get the right finish by using the right presser foot. After all, with the time and effort invested in your sewing projects you deserve nothing less than a happy ending.
Learn and practice a variety of appliqué techniques, starting with the traditional method at the sewing machine., including satin stitch, blanket stitch and reversed appliqué. We will also play with raw edge applique with various stitching methods. We'll even appliqué with a stitch regulator! An overview of appliqué done with embroidery will be presented.
Pintucks are beautiful and add both dimension and direction to a fabric and project. Learn the easy way to make professional looking tucks in multiple ways, using the right tools for perfect results.
