Stitch Perfection

Stitch Perfection

Don’t you hate it when threads bunch up or the stitches are not smooth?  You rip out the stitches and start all over, but the same thing happens time after time.  An easy fix is to completely remove the spool of thread and re-thread your machine. Then remove the bobbin, exam it to be sure the thread is consistently wound, and replace the bobbin.  That should do it.

Get The Lint Out

Get The Lint Out

Ever notice that your sewing machine is not working properly, maybe it seems a bit sluggish? You may need to clean the lint out from the machines’ feed dogs and bobbin case.  Just like with a dryer, lint from fabric constantly collects under the hood.  Depending on how much you sew, you might want to get into the habit of checking for lint at least once a week.  A little pro-active maintenance can prevent lots of  frustration!

Don’t Be Dull!

Don’t Be Dull!

If you are like most sewers, you get into your “sewing zone” and time just flies by. To be sure your finished items look their best be sure to change your sewing machine needle after about 8 hours of sewing.  Dull needles are not as fabric friendly as fresh, sharp needles!
